We used to have Third Places.
Not home. Not work.
But something else entirely. Something that took the pressure off the other two.
The market stall where conversations came free with the veg.
The WI hall on a Wednesday night.
The Post Office queue where everyone knew your name.
They weren’t formal.
They weren’t scheduled.
But they gave us space to breathe, connect, reflect - and return to the rest of life a little more resourced.
Somewhere along the way, we normalised doing without them.
And many of us are feeling the cost.
We used to have these places without even thinking about it.
Now we have to create them - gently, intentionally, together.
And if that idea stirs something in you, you’re already part of it.
